In a world of reboots, no movie is safe. Memento remake movie coming soon.

According to reports, Hollywood is looking into rebooting the cult classic Christopher Nolan movie, Memento.

Nothing is sacred.

AMBI Pictures has announced they will produce the remake and this is expected to be the start of a long list of potential remake movies. Apparently, AMBI Pictures owns the exclusive rights to over 400 movies including ruel Intentions, Donnie Darko, Rush and Sliding Doors, among others.

This all started after a filmmaking fund started last week to gain the rights to 400 movie library. Afterwards it was announced that Memento would be their first production.

Memento starred Guy Pearce as a man who suffers from amnesia but struggles to figure out who killed his wife as he plans for revenge. The movie is told out of order until the very end.

Memento was nominated for best screenplay and best editing and landed Christopher Nolan to A-list status. It made $25.5. million in the US box office, qualifying it as a break out independent hit movie.

Here’s why Hollywood wants to remake Memento:

Memento is a masterpiece that leaves audiences guessing not just throughout the film, but long after as well, which is a testament to its daring approach. We intend to stay true to Christopher Nolan’s vision and deliver a memorable movie that is every bit as edgy, iconic and award-worthy as the original. It’s a big responsibility to deliver something that lives up to the mastery of the original, but we are extremely excited and motivated to bring this puzzle back to life and back into the minds of moviegoers.”
