Marvel Plans on Releasing a Female Super Hero Action Movie

Black Widow has been making appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since Iron Man 2 where Scarlett Johansson first picked up the role. Black Widow continued in The Avengers, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Now Hollywood producers are anticipating on unleashing a solo Black Widow movie.

There was plenty of rumors as to whether Black Widow will get a spin-off title of her own. But, after an inteview with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, it is now official.

Black Widow’s part in [The Avengers: Age of Ultron] is very big. We learn more about her past and learn more about where she came from and how she became in that film. The notion of exploring that even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that. When we meet the Avengers at the top of Age of Ultron, it’s a very different landscape than we left them at the end of the first film. Partially, that’s because we love the rhythm that the comic books have developed — each of the characters appear in their runs, occasionally they get together for a big event or crossover series, they part again, and then they come back together again.

But, after commenting on an upcoming solo film he has not offered an additional input as who might wright, direct, or if we will see Scarlett Johansson reprise her role in the movie.

This is a major move. If Marvel Comics moves quickly enough they may beat DC Comics to having the first solo female superhero film released in the current age of movies. Even though Gal Gadot is scheduled to appear in the Batman vs. Superman movie, the Wonder Woman feature film is not set to release for another two years in 2016.
