Maricial Wallace was the voice of Edna Krabappel on the “The Simpsons”.

Marcia Wallace died at the young age of 70.

In a statement, “Simpsons” exec producer Al Jean called her “brilliant and gracious.”

“She was beloved by all at ‘The Simpsons’ and we intend to retire her irreplaceable character,” he said.

Earlier this year, “Simpsons” producers let it be known that the show intended to kill off a major character in the upcoming season. Jean said that Wallace’s character was not the one slated to die.

Wallace’s son confirmed that she passed away in her sleep.

The actress had been battling breast cancer, as well as, pneumonia.

Although, her Wallace’s son does not believe that breast cancer lead to her sudden death.

Wallace will be missed by her friends and family.

We will all miss the life she bough to Edna Krabappel on “The Simpsons”.
