Johnny Depp is Facing 10 Years in Prison For Taking Dogs to Australia

Johnny Depp could face 10 years in prison for taking his dogs to Australia.

The Oscar nominated actor has been threatened with a lengthy prison sentence after failing to declare his pets when flying to the country.

After illegally bringing this two dogs to Australia, Johnny Depp could face up to 10 years behind bars. Johnny Depp is is currently filming ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales but, got into trouble earlier this month when he brought his two Yorkshire terriers to the country on his private jet. He failed to declare them and therefore broke the country’s quarantine laws.

Earlier this month the Australian senate committee was told that if it goes to court, Johnny Depp could receive a sentence of up to 10 years in prison or a maximum fine of over $100,000. The pilot could also face up to two years behind bars for his role in the situation.

According to reports, officials have referred to the case as “very serious”.

The story originated when pictures of Johnny Depp were leaked showing Depp taking his dogs to the local groomer surfaced on social media and authorities warned that the dogs would be put down unless they were flown out of the country in two days.

Johnny Depp’s wife has since returned to California with the dogs.
