The “most-watched trial of the year,” followed on the heels of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation case, has now been made into a film. The Tubi original Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial tells the story of one of the most high-profile cases in recent memory.

Ultimately, the jury deliberated that Heard defamed Depp with domestic violence allegations in her December 2018 op-ed piece, while Depp was held liable for his lawyer’s defamatory statement about Heard.

The movie’s official trailer shows that Hot Take will give both sides of the legal battle fought by Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s attorneys. The trial also references the TikTok videos that made fun of Heard during the trial, in addition to other lead-up and scenes from the two-month process. By collaborating with Fox Entertainment’s MarVista Entertainment, the Tubi original increased production speed.

Watch the official trailer for Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial premiering September 30 on the free, ad-supported Tubi service September 30.
