Disney’s CEO Teases ‘Indiana Jones’ Reboot

The CEO of Disney suggests ‘Indiana Jones’ is being considered for a reboot.

According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, the Mickey Mouse corporation is strongly considering rebooting the franchise after Indiana Jones 5 lands in theaters on July 19, 2019.

Iger conversed with The Hollywood Reporter about the durability of the franchise and was asked if there would be an Indiana Jones cinematic universe similar to the Star Wars reboot. He responded by saying: “Not like Star Wars, no. But we hope … right now, we’re focused on a reboot, or a continuum and then a reboot of some sort.”

Iger also says a reboot would still have Harrison Ford involved in some way shape or form. “Well, we’ll bring him back, then we have to figure out what comes next,” offered the big cheese of Mickey Mouse’s empire. “That’s what I mean. It’s not really a reboot, it’s a boot — a reboot. I don’t know.”

Iger’s goal is to keep Harrison Ford isn’t something that would derail the current Indiana Jones 5 movie plans, but it begs the question: would audiences be interested in seeing a reboot?
