Homeland’s James Rebhorn Passes Away Due to Skin Cancer

The incredible hard working and industry veteran James Rebhorn has passed away on Friday after battling skin cancer.

James Rebhorn who played the father of Claire Danes’ in the hit TV series ‘Homeland’ has died. He passed away on Friday. He was 65.

“He died from melanoma, which had been diagnosed in 1992,” his agent told The Hollywood Reporter. “He fought it all this time. He died Friday afternoon at his home in New Jersey, where he had been receiving hospice care for a week and a half.”

James Rebhorn also had a recurring role on the hit USA Network series White Collar as he played Special Agent Reese Hughes, head of the FBI’s Manhattan white-collar crime unit.

James Rebhorn has been working in the industry for over fifty years and has a resume working on Seinfeld, My Cousin Vinny, Basic Instinct, Reel Steel, Far From Heaven, The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Practice, Boston Legal, Third Watch, The Book of Daniel, Law & Order, Big Lake and Independence Day as well as a ton of other productions.

Rebhorn is survived by his wife, Rebecca, and daughters Hanna and Emma.
