Final Destination became a pop-culture phenomenon. Nearly everyone was talking about their near-death experiences as if it were a scene from the hit Hollywood feature film franchise. Now, Hollywood is planning on recreating the series with Superstition: Final Chance in the Peach State.

According to the Georgia Help Wanted Hotline, Superstition: Final Chance will film in Georgia this October. According to reports, Global Renaissance Entertainment Group has entered into a multi-picture production deal with Jeffrey Reddick, creator of the “Final Destination” franchise. The film is being set up as the first in a series of pictures aimed at  Reddick’s horror fan base from the five Final Destination movies.

The five Final Destination movies earned over $650 million worldwide and with the recent success of the Horror genre with movies like The Purge and The Conjuring, Reddick and Global Renaissance Group is attempting on tap into the growing Horror industry.

“We knew that we wanted to be in the horror/thriller space,” CEO Arthur Wylie said. “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Jeffrey on this endeavor, who enables us to take full advantage of the market’s clear demand for this genre.”
