Fights among Teamsters on television and film productions are giving the union a bad name.

Teamsters are the drivers, warehouse workers, casting directors, truck drivers, etc. on television and film productions. But, according to deadline, fights among drivers have gotten so bad that the secretary-treasurer of Teamsters Local 399 has warned their members that they will be fired if they continue to fight.

Here’s what the secretary-treasurer had to say:

Due to the escalating number of incidences being reported, I must take a moment to address the Membership. We are finding that more and more Members are fighting with one another on set. It is my duty to say – Knock It Off!

When two Members get into an altercation we have found that in order to remedy the situation quickly BOTH Members will immediately be LAID-OFF. Whether you were the one to instigate the situation or not you will both be released from the job.

If either party has an issue that cannot be resolved amongst yourselves, call the Union first and we’ll have a meeting at the hall with both parties to resolve the issue.

On or off set you are always representing the legacy and tradition of our great Union. As a Teamster and Member of Local 399 we must work together as Brothers and Sisters putting differences aside for the betterment of our Membership.

Please demonstrate the professionalism we know you’re capable of. Thank you.
