Chris Pratt‘s next movie will reportedly film in Atlanta this summer

Filming in Georgia is on fire, despite a reported boycott of the state’s film industry over the anti-abortion “heartbeat” bill, producers are scouting the state for their next production.

According to reports, Chris McKay’s new sci-fi movie “Ghost Draft” is looking to film in Atlanta, Georgia, and Iceland with a targeted summer filming date. Chris Pratt will star in the upcoming feature film with a script from Zach Dean. Plot details for the project have not been revealed at this time.

It is important to note, Chris McKay, who directed the hit animated film, “The Lego Batman Movie” is attached to work on several projects including DC’s “Nightwing”, “Johnny Quest” and a “Lego Batman” sequel. At one point, McKay was going to direct a “Dungeons and Dragons” movie, but he has since left the project to work on their productions. He is also set to direct a new Netflix movie called “Reborn” for Netflix with Sandra Bullock.

Chris Pratt has become an A-list talent starring in hit movies including “The Lego Movie”, Marvel’s “Guardians of The Galaxy” and the “Jurassic World” franchise.

This news comes after Hollywood’s A-listers have banded together to push Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp to veto the state’s highly controversial “heartbeat bill,”  legislation that would prohibit women from seeking an abortion after six weeks of pregnancy. Meanwhile, the governors of Pennsylvania and New Jersey are seizing the opportunity to coax producers to move their productions from Georgia to their states by advertising their own tax incentives and pro-abortion rights laws.

A petition created by Alyssa Milano, who is currently in Atlanta filming her Netflix series “Insatiable” was signed by more than 100 high profile celebrities including Amy Schumer, Alec Baldwin, and Judd Apatow. Milano wrote that if the bill passed, “we cannot in good conscience continue to recommend our industry remain in Georgia.”
