Georgia May Have Just Lost Another MAJOR TV Production

Georgia’s  film industry may have lost another TV show. While there are currently over 30 TV shows and movies now shooting in Atlanta the summer, it appears as though another TV series may not be headed back to the ATL.

According to reports, Fox has decided to pull the plug on their reboot of 24. 24: Legacy, which filmed in Atlanta for several months will not be returning for the 2017-2018 season. Why is the show not coming back? Deadline reports that the leading actor, Corey Hawkins, is headed to Broadway to star in Six Degrees of Separation. However, it is important to note that after a strong post-Super Bowl debut, the ratings were not as strong as the network probably would have liked. That said, Fox executives explained that they were happy with the creative direction of the show and they believe Hawkins did an excellent job.

Fox executives explained that they planned to sit down with the executive producer Howard Gordon to see where the franchise can go next.

Ultimately, there still is a chance that the show will return but it may take a while.

This news comes after The CW canceled the hit TV series The Vampire Diaries after the show filmed for nearly a decade in the ATL.
