Weeks before the new season of Stranger Things is released, the Duffer brothers have confirmed that their 1980s horror series is not only locked-in for a third season, but will most likely get a fourth season before the story comes to an end.

In an interview with Vulture, Ross Duffer explained their approach to the show:

“We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out.” While Matt Duffer added: “We just have to keep adjusting the story, though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”

“They’re going to have to get the f*ck out of this town! It’s ridiculous!” Ross said.

This is great news for Georgia’s booming film industry. The show filmed around Atlanta for the last two years and boosted the local film industry. In fact, Georgia local actor Shannon Purser, who played Barb, has had a booming acting career. She was recently nominated for an Emmy for guest actress in a drama series.

Stranger Things’ first season ended with Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) returning to Earth after being stuck in the Upside Down with a monster.A final scene hinted that Will may have accidentally brought the monster back with him, but we will have to wait and see.

Stranger Things season 2 will air on Netflix on October 27th.
