‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Harry Potter’ Books Cause Brain Damage, Head Teacher Says

Fantasy books like the Game of Thrones can cause brain damage, according to one teacher.

A private school teacher, Grame Whiting has urged his students not to read the Game of Thrones books arguing it can damage their “sensitive subconscious brains.”According to reports, Graeme Whiting said fantasy books such as Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games and even Harry Potter books  “encourage difficult behaviour in children”.

“Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games, and Terry Pratchett, to mention only a few of the modern world’s ‘must-haves’, contain deeply insensitive and addictive material which I am certain encourages difficult behaviour in children; yet they can be bought without a special licence, and can damage the sensitive subconscious brains of young children, many of whom may be added to the current statistics of mentally ill young children.”

He added: “Children are innocent and pure at the same time, and don’t need to be mistreated by cramming their imagination that lies deep within them, with inappropriate things.”

What’s ironic is that a lot of these books are based on classics such as Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. In fact, a large part of the most violent fight scenes in the Game of Thrones are actually based on historical English, Scottish and Irish history.
