“Game of Thrones” Author Wants You to Shut Up About the TV Show

George R.R. Martin used his blog to scold fans who bother him about how the TV show has deviated from his ‘Game of Thrones‘ books.

“Meanwhile, other wars are breaking out on other fronts, centered around the last few episodes of GAME OF THRONES,” Martin, 66, wrote. “It is not my intention to get involved in those [issues], nor to allow them to take over my blog and website, so please stop emailing me about them, or posting off-topic comments here on my Not a Blog.

“Wage those battles on Westeros, or Tower of the Hand, or Boiled Leather, or Winter Is Coming, or Watchers on the Walls. Anyplace that isn’t here, actually.”

This season of “Game of Thrones” has seen several major deviations form Martin’s books – most notably Sansa marrying Ramsay – who then raped her.

It is important to point out that Martin is an executive producer on “Game of Thrones,” which was created for TV by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who oversee the series and script of each of its episodes.

“Yes, I know The Hollywood Reporter named me ‘the third most powerful writer in Hollywood’ last December,” Martin wrote. “You would be surprised at how little that means. I cannot control what anyone else says or does, or make them stop saying or doing it, be it on the fannish or professional fronts.

“What I can control is what happens in my books, so I am going to return to that chapter I’ve been writing on ‘The Winds of Winter’ now, thank you very much.”

Is this how ‘Game of Thrones’ will end? This season of “Game of Thrones” has seen kids burned alive, flying dragons, and seductive Sand Snakes, as the show diverges further and further from the books.

The HBO series has now taken a completely different direction, separate from George R.R. Martin’s books by switching characters’ roles, adding new story lines and killing off major characters.

While readers of the books once had a head start on knowing what is going to happen next but, only the producers have the answers to the puzzles. Ultimately, this is pissing off a lot of fans and viewers of the show.
