FX’s ‘The Comedians’ canceled after one season.

Showrunner Ben Wexler announced on Twitter that the comedy starring Billy Crystal and Josh Gad would not be returning for another season.

“#TheComedians is cancelled at FX. I could not be more proud of the work we all did,” he wrote.

The TV series had pretty bad ratings. The comedy aired its 13-episode run June 25 with 306,000 same-day viewers.

The series was developed by Larry Charles, Billy Crystal, Matt Nix, and Ben Wexler.

‘The Comedians’ received mixed reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has a rating of 58%, based on 38 reviews, with an average rating of 7.1/10. The site’s critical consensus reads, “Though The Comedians’ material doesn’t break any TV molds, the stars’ comic abilities push the show over the median with well-earned laughs.”
