FOX Cancels the new series ‘Hieroglyphs‘ before it even aired

The new adventure drama Hieroglyph, which previously bypassed the pilot stage and had been given a 13 episode series order by FOX has now been cancelled.

The series was created by Travis Beacham (Pacific Rim) was scheduled to debut later on this year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, only the first episode of Hieroglyph had been filmed before FOX decided that the storylines and plans for the series wasn’t “meeting a certain level of creatively.”

The Hieroglyph’s series order, came around during the ex-entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly argued to change the standard pilot process for new shows. Reilly stepped down as chairman at the end of last May in what was commented as a “voluntary” decision. Although reports show that Reilly had been arguing against FOX Networks Group CEO Peter Rice over certain show cancellation decisions.

It is rumored that Hieroglyph was one of Reilly’s passion projects. Now there is no replacement lined up.
