Facebook launches “reactions”, the updated version of the “dislike” button.

Facebook has just launched a test for a new feature called “Reactions,” which is to become a more expressive “like” button, for Facebook users in Ireland and Spain.

The feature will be an extension of the “dislike” button that founder Mark Zuckerberg announced Facebook was developling last month during a Question and Answer session at the Facebook headquarters.

“Not every moment is a good moment, and sometimes you just want a way to express empathy,” Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post.

“Reactions” gives you new ways to express love, awe, humor and sadness.”

“Reactions” will basically just allow users to express their feelings, emotions, and sometimes hatred with more than just a “like”. Zuckerberg explained that the “dislike” button will not be for up voting and down voting comments and posts.

“It’s not a dislike button, but it does give you the power to easily express sorrow and empathy— in addition to delight and warmth,” Zuckerberg wrote in the post.

To use these “Reactions”, Facebook users only have to hold down and hover over the “like” button. Then, six options will appear alongside the “like” button, ranging from “love” to “angry.”

Zuckerberg didn’t reveal when “Reactions” will be available for Facebook users worldwide, however, if testing is successful in Span and Ireland, expected to be released worldwide in the next few months.
