Millions of people have watched Disney’s Aladdin. One of the best parts of the movie is the genie played by Robin Williams. But now that the Disney is casting lead roles for the live-action remake, many people are wondering who will replace Robin Williams and play the genie.
According to deadline.com, Will Smith is currently in talks for the Genie role in the Disney live action remake. Smith had previously been in talks with Tim Burton about the Dumbo remake may have set his eyes on the new Aladdin movie.
The new Aladdin movie will be a live action musical and will follow in the footsteps of the recently released Disney movie Beauty and the Beast, which has already earned over $1 billion worldwide.
The original Aladdin movie made over $504 million for Disney and helped the company launched several successful merchandising lines of products.
