Director Ron Howard Shares Amazing Advice for Filmmakers [Video]

The Tribeca Film Festival was announced today and Director Ron Howard gave away some amazing filmmaking tips.

The Tribeca Film Festival is ramping up production and accepting submissions for features, shorts and new media projects. The deadly for features and shorts is this October 17th.

Ron Howard made his directorial debut with the 1977 comedy Grand Theft Auto, and left Happy Days in 1980 to focus on directing.

Howard’s films include CocoonApollo 13How the Grinch Stole Christmas and A Beautiful Mind, which earned Howard the Academy Award for Best Director. In 2002, Howard created the idea for Arrested Development, on which he also serves as producer and narrator, and plays a semi-fictionalized version of himself.

In the video released by the Tribeca Film Festival, Ron Howard argues that as a director you should “never stand more than three feet from your actor when giving direction”
