Dennis Rodman’s “Hoops Diplomacy” to North Korea is being Made Into a Movie

“Ride Along” director Tim Story will helm the comedy, with Peter Chernin (“The Heat”) on board to produce.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox just bought the comedy Diplomats, inspiried by Dennis Rodman’s “hoops diplomacy” mission to North Korea. 

Tim Story, the director of the box-office success, Ride Along, will direct the upcoming comedy along side, Peter Chernin (The Heat) who will produce the project. Jonathan Abrams will write the script for the project.

Dennis Rodman became an international sensation last year when he visited North Korea and befriended the country’s dictator, Kim Jong Un. In January, he returned to the country and organized a basketball game in Pyongyang. he even sang “Happy Birthday” to the country’s dictator.

Since the nationwide success of Ride Along, Tim Story has been receiving numerous offers for other productions. He is already set to work along side Kevin Hart and Ice Cube in Ride Along 2.
