Christian Bale: “Still Haunted” By ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Shooting

Christian Bale reveals he is still “haunted” by the 2012 movie massacre during the screen of The Dark Knight Rises. 

British actor Christian Bale still feels “haunted” by the 2012 cinema massacre during a screening of his Batman blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises just weeks before the alleged gunman’s trial is about to start.

James Holmes, 26, is accused of opening fire on a packed movie theater in Colorado where he killed 12 film fans and injury 58 other people. Jury selection for his trial is expected to begin in the new year, January 15th.

Christian Bale has now opened up about how the killing has impacted him and how the movie’s director Christopher Nolan are still struggling to deal with the horror of the crime.

Christian Bale spoke with the Wall Street Journal and said the following:

“That haunts me to this day, haunts all of us who were involved. I know it haunts Chris (Nolan) as well, because we were stuck in a hotel in France when it happened.”

James Holmes denies several charges including first-degree murder and attempted murder for allegedly opening fire in the Aurora cinema short before a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in July of 2012.
