The Charlie Charlie Challenge Was a Giant Publicity Stunt for a Horror Movie

0

The Charlie Charlie Challenge was a marketing campaign for a new horror movie.

We’ve already written about the insane that social media trend #CharlieCharlieChallenge in which teenagers use pencils like a Ouija board boast on a racist rumor about a “Mexican demon” named “Charlie” – because that’s a common name for a Mexican demon.

Anyways, it was a giant marketing campaign. So you have been brainwashed, fooled, tricked, hoodwinked, and manipulated by an advertising agency.

As the video shows above, this Charlie Charlie Challenge thing comes from a scene in the upcoming movie ‘The Gallows,’ a horror movie that was filmed before this challenge started. They are obviously behind the social media trend. The Gallows is an upcoming American found footage horror film written and directed by Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing. The film stars Cassidy Gifford, Pfeifer Brown, Ryan Shoos, Reese Mishler, Alexis Schneider and Price T. Morgan. The film is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. on July 10, 2015.

In ‘The Gallows’,  a boy named Charlie is killed in a horrific accident during a small town high school play – “The Gallows”. Years later, students at the school resurrect the failed show in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy – but a few of the students break in at night to stop the production and soon discover that some things are better left alone for good.

Some people took this #CharlieCharlieCharlieChallenge very seriously. One priest in Philadelphia wrote an open letter to students about the dangers of this “demonic” challenge. When it actuality it was all a giant marketing camapaign.

I feel stupid.
