Bryan Cranston’s “All The Way” Play May Turn into a Steven Spielberg Mini-Series

0

Steven Spielberg wants to turn Bryan Cranston’s Tony Award winning performance of LBJ into a miniseries.

Bryan Cranston won a Best Lead Actor Tony Award last night for his portrayal as President Lyndon Johnson in the Robert Schenkkan play All The Way

Hours after the play won the Tony last night, Deadline reports that Steven Spielberg is interested in producing a miniseries with Bryan Cranston.

Spielberg wants Cranston to reprise his role in a drama that begins with the Kennedy assassination, and spans the first year of Johnson’s administration, from taking office and leveraging his power to pass Civil Rights legislation in Congress to his landslide re-election victory.

There is no official word as to where the television series will premiere. Spielberg does have a history with HBO with ‘Band of Brothers‘ but Bryan Cranston owes a large part of his success to AMC.
