0

The Big Bang Theory prequel is currently in development.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Big Bang Theory co-creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady are working on a TV series that centers around the young version of Emmy winner Jim Parsons’ Dr. Sheldon Cooper.

From THR:

Insiders describe the project as Malcolm in the Middle but with a young and potentially teenage version of Sheldon. None of the Big Bang Theory cast are said to be involved in the potential prequel series outside of Parsons, who will executive produce.

The Big Bang Theory spinoff comes as the show heads into its 10th season and has not been renewed beyond that. Currently, Big Bang Theory is TV’s most watched comedy among the key demographic, 18 to 49 year olds.

It’s important to note that the Big Bang Theory cast members earned $1 million per half-hour episode and the cast is currently negotiating for a larger pay raise.
