Three officers were killed and three others were wounded in a shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that officials think were carried out by multiple gunmen.
Suspicious phone call
According to reports, police received a phone call of a “suspicious person walking down Airline Highway with an assault rifle,” and when police arrived, the shooting began.
Three officers killed, 6 shot
Three officers died and three others were hospitalized in critical condition, according to reports. The victims were from Baton Rouge Police Department as well as East Baton Rouge Parish Sherrif’s Office.
Governor Reacts
“This is an unspeakable and unjustified attack on all of us at a time when we need unity and healing,” Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said.

One suspect is dead, and two others may be at large in the Baton Rouge shooting, the East Baton Rouge sheriff’s office said.
