The news broke through the WILX-10 News station in Michigan, where Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been filming at the Michigan State University. The extra told reporter Kirk Montgomery: “I’ve also learned that the character of Robin is now female.” Meanwhile, Malone has been spotted on set and at recent film premieres sporting Kelley’s trademark red crop. Warner Bros. has not yet made a public comment on the rumour. However, several US sites are reporting that the extra in question is facing a possible $5m for breaking the non-disclosure agreement.

Zach Snyder is returning to direct the Man of Steel sequel and it is reported that the director will be taking a lot of characteristics from the The Dark Knight Returns and will feature a jaded Batman coming into conflict with Superman after the dark knight is out-of-control.

Even though the introduction of a female Robin character will be controversial with fans, it will probably be extremely popular once it is officially announced.
