It is official – Bad Boys For Life is coming soon.

Details surrounding the new Bad Boys 3 movie have been scarce. There were rumors of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were going to pick up their badges and head back to work but, that’s where it stopped – until now. Everyone’s favorite detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey are eventually coming back, and when they do the movie’s title will be called: Bad Boys For Life.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the highly anticipated sequel to the Sony trilogy has a targeted release date of January 2018. The delay is in part due to the fact that production cannot start until Will Smith finishes filming Collateral Beauty, a drama he joined after filming Suicide Squad. But, to make this news even better Sony also plans on releasing Bad Boys 4 on July 3, 2019, right before the holiday weekend.

If everything goes according to schedule, it will be at least 15 years since Will Smith and Martin Lawrence worked together. But, when you look at how much money the first two movies bad in the box office, you are going to wonder what took Hollywood so long. According to reports, 1995 and 2003 versions grossed $65 million and $273 million respectively at the box office.

This news comes after Will Smith reportedly told reporters that Bad Boys 3 was “definitely” happening. In a BBC Radio 1 interview, Will Smith revealed plans for an upcoming Bad Boys sequel. “I saw Martin [Lawrence] a few weeks ago,” Smith explained. “I haven’t seen him for about two years. We just looked at each other. We hugged. In that moment, we knew we were making another Bad Boys. We’re definitely doing another one.”
