Following the terrorist attack that killed and injured dozens of people at Ariana Grande’s Manchester concert last week, she and her fans have shared inspiring messages of hope. The latest message comes from her brother Frankie Grande, who tweeted his reaction on Sunday.

“My prayers, thoughts, meditations, and strength [have] been focused on those families and victims affected by the horrific tragedy in Manchester,” he wrote. “I echo my sister’s sentiment and say we can’t allow hate to propagate hate and fear to propagate fear… but rather come together and spread a message of love, unity, and empowerment. So I say, as I have before, shine bright, and when evil comes to drown out your light, throw shade over your beautiful soul, shine brighter!”

In her own Instagram message, Ariana expressed that she is making a goal to overcome hate with love. She will be returning to Manchester for a concert to benefit the victims and their families.

“Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder, and to live more kindly and generously than we did before,” she wrote. “Music is meant to heal us, to bring us together, to make us happy.”
