New Bond girl Ana de Armas reveals what it was like to audition for the James Bond franchise.

Actress Ana de Armas is a rising star in Hollywood. She has worked with several major A-list actors, including Ryan Gosling in the 2017 movie ‘Blade Runner 2049′. She explains what it’s like in an interview with American Airlines’ in-flight magazine, American Way.

“Oh, hell, yes, I was nervous,” de Armas explained. She added, “I auditioned three times for [the role of] Joi, and the third time, I knew he would be there. I was shaking so badly. They put you in a room together and make you read things, to see how your chemistry is. I wish I had the tape of that meeting.”

Gosling is just one of several Hollywood A-listers de Armas who has worked within the last few years. She worked with Keanu Reeves and recently filmed the movie ‘Deep Water‘ with Ben Affleck. She will also star in the upcoming Marilyn Monroe story ‘Blonde,’ which is produced by Brad Pitt.

“I’ve been very lucky — because these men are all very handsome — but the best part of it is who they are as people,” de Armas said. “I’ve had the best partners.”

Arguably, her most prominent role is in the next James Bond movie, ‘No Time to Die,’ which is scheduled to hit theaters in November. However, she explains that she almost didn’t land the role.

“Bond girls have been portrayed for so many years with a specific type of woman. I associate it with some sort of perfection and beauty standards beyond the normal. Things that I didn’t match,” the Hispanic actress de Armas said. “I was shocked when the director called me to say ‘The character is not written yet, but we want you to do it.'”

Many famous women have played the role of “Bond girl” over the years, including Halle Berry, Michelle Yeoh, and Jane Seymour.

In the upcoming James Bond movie, she will play a CIA agent assigned to help James Bond.

“Usually, these women [Bond girls], they need to be rescued. Or they die. Or are evil,” de Armas said. “I needed to read that script. And it took a little, but they sent me the scenes. It’s important because I want to bring something else to the story.”
