RATINGS: AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Ratings Hit 2-Year High

0

AMC’s hit TV series The Walking Dead brought in an average of 17 million viewers for the show’s season 7 premiere on Sunday. That is a huge.

The premiere missed the series’ record ratings by only 300,000 viewers. However, ratings increased by 20% in comparison to last year’s finale and 16% from last year’s debut.

The episode also grabbed the largest audience despite going against the biggest show on television, the NFL, and nearly beat it. The Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals on NBC’s Sunday Night Football brought in an ave3rage of 17.7 million viewers.

And the numbers of the season 7 premiere could increase once delayed viewing is taken into account.

The premiere ratings were driven by the show’s history of engaging with fans. The show has a long history of connecting fans with the show’s character and each episode has fans on edge asking themselves – “who is next?”
