Johnson, questioned why “my mother and grandmother” are not in movies.

Referencing her Working Girl star mother, 58, and actress grandmother Tippi Hedren, 85, she said: ‘Why isn’t my mother in the movies? She’s an extraordinary actress. Why isn’t my grandmother in the movies? This industry is f****** brutal.’

‘Why isn’t my mother in the movies? She’s an extraordinary actress. Why isn’t my grandmother in the movies? This industry is f****** brutal.’

Johnson is not the only actress bashing the film industry lately. Carrie Fisher recently criticized those questioning how badly she aged following her appearance on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Fisher, 59, took to Twitter to address the scrutiny over re-casting as an older Princess Leia, saying: ‘Please stop debating about whether or not I have aged well. Unfortunately it hurts all 3 of my feelings. My body hasn’t aged as well as I have. Blow us.’

And Anne Hathaway also spoke about being a victim of an industry that favors casting young actors. The 32-year-old actress revealed that she is already losing roles to actress far younger than her.

‘When I was in my early twenties, parts would be written for women in their fifties and I would get them.’

She added: ‘Now I’m in my early thirties and I’m like, “Why did that 24-year-old get that part?” I was that 24-year-old once. I can’t be upset about it, it’s the way things are.’
