3 Actresses Turned Entrepreneurs After their Acting Careers Slowed Down

Is your acting career not taking off? Take a tip from former A-list actresses, start a lifestyle company.

More and more Hollywood actresses are starting lifestyle companies after acting opportunities become harder and harder to come by and actors are making a fortune.

As Tech.co describes, “Entrepreneurs who start lifestyle businesses do so because they want to make their lives more appealing. This could mean a more flexible work schedule, a fun work environment, earning more money, or achieving life goals.”

Successful female actors are marketing themselves as mothers and domestic workers in order to keep a public interest on them and then making money off of it. Is it degrading? Depends on who you ask.

But basically, actors are creating businesses that mirror their actual lives. Here are several actors who have recently started celebrity lifestyle companies.

1. Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow opened a Celebrity Lifestyle Company called GOOP, and was founded in 2008.

Gwyneth started goop in the fall of 2008 to share all of life’s positives. From creating a delicious recipe to finding a perfect dress for spring, Gwyneth began curating the best of lifestyle to help her readers save time, simplify and feel inspired. Determined to publish a genuine and resourceful issue each week, for many, goop has become their most trusted girlfriend on the web.

Paltrow’s last major role was in 1998 Shakespeare in Lovewhere she won an Academy Award. As she approached 40, like most actresses,  major acting roles started to come fewer and farther in between. But, using her experiences, money, and drive she was able to build a digital media and e-commerce company. Want to work for Gwyneth Paltrow? Click Here!

2.  Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba created the Honest Company in 2012.

So, our goal is to relieve you of a few tasks by delivering the best family essentials to your doorstep – to simplify your life and bring more delight to every day. Our dream is to re-define the “family brand” and create something – with you – that’s better for all families, everywhere.

Jessica Alba‘s last major role was The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007. But, since then she has been unable to reclaim the sex appeal she once had when her career first started. Alba later had two children and used her mothering instincts to create a company that focuses on providing products for families. Guess what, Jessica Alba is hiring too! Click Here!

3. Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson might be the best example of actors turned entrepreneurs. After starting the Jessica Simpson collection in 2006, her company is now worth $1 billion. Her last major movie was The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) while her last successful single was a cover of “These Boots Were Made for Walking” for the film soundtrack.

In an industry where a majority of roles go to women Jennifer Lawrence‘s age, actresses are forced to adjust. Ultimately, this shows that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If you’re an actress and unable to land as many roles as you once did, take a note from these lovely ladies, never give up and start a business.
