2 New Movies and TV Shows Now Filming in Atlanta You Should Know

Playstation’s Powers and Paramount Pictures’ Bastards are now filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

Georgia’s film industry is booming and two major TV shows and movies are now filming in Atlanta.

Playstation and Paramount Pictures have signed deals major deals to film their new productions in Atlanta, Georgia. According to Come Tour Georgia, Paramount Picture’s new movie Bastards and Playstation’s hit TV series Powers will film season 2 in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is huge news for Atlanta, the state that plans to double the number of productions filming in the state by 2017. At this rate, Georgia will quickly overtake Los Angeles as the filmmaking capital of the world.

According to Deadline, cinematographer Lawrence Sher (Garden State, Hangover trilogy) will make his directorial debut. Bastards stars Ed Helms (Vacation), Owen Wilson (Zoolander 2), Ving Rhames (Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation) and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash). Bastards centers around “two brothers whose eccentric mother has fabricated the story that their father had died when they were young. When they find out the story is false, they make it their mission to find their real father.”

Playstation’s ‘Powers’ Season 2

‘Powers’ is based on Brian Michael Bendis’ comic, and features Sharlto Copley as a cop who works in the Powers division of the police force and deals with crimes involving those endowed with special powers. ‘Powers’ season 2 will return in 2016.

‘Powers’ is ranked as Playstation Network’s most watched-series on the video game console, with Season one available to Playstation Network subscribers.

“The reception to Powers has been incredible, and we are thrilled to have successfully launched a platform for original content with the PlayStation gamer in mind,” said John Koller, vp platforms marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America. “We believe original content will continue to be a key pillar as we broaden the value proposition for PlayStation Plus, and we’re excited for what’s to come with season two of Powers.”
