During the filming a French reality show, Dropped, ten people died when two helicopters collided, according to reports.

Dropped is an adventure reality show that follows eight sports stars who are blindfolded and ropped in rough environments with nothing but water and a GPS. The shooting of the show started in February in Ushuaia and Patagonia.  The crash left no survivors and occurred in the mountains of Argentina.

Among the 10 people who died were high-profile French athletes: champion sailor Florence Arthaud, boxer Alexis Vastine et Olympic Gold medalist swimmer Camille Muffat. The other victims were the show’s director Laurent Sbasnik, two French journalists Lucie Mei-Dalby and Volodia Guinard, the production’s doctor Edouard Gilles and Brice Guilbert, as well as the two Argentinean pilots. This filming accident comes just hours after ‘Midnight Rider’ director was sentenced to 10 years for the involuntary manslaughter of camera assistant Sarah Jones. But, this is not the first time someone died on a French reality show. In 2014, production company, TF1, had to shut down production of Koh-Lanta, a French version of Survivor, because a contestant died during filming in Cambodia and the show’s doctor committed suicide.
