The upcoming Roots remake is looking for African American men and women to play older slaves in an upcoming episode filming in New Orleans, Louisiana. Caballero Casting is looking for men and women who can really cry and act as you will be playing a slave that is being sold.

Casting directors are currently accepting video auditions.

About Roots:

A&E Networks is working on the Roots remake. The new mini-series will be a remake of the classic 1997 miniseries that traced a black family’s history from salvery on to the end of the Civil War. The eight-episode series, which has been in the works since 2013, will air simultaneously on The History Channel, A&E, and Lifetime in 2016.

NOW CASTING FOR FEATURED EXTRAS: for ROOTS FINAL EPISODE

2-3 African American Men/Women age range 40-50’s who can really cry/act. You would be playing a slave that is being sold.

Filming: DEC 12th and 14th (must be available both days)
Location: EDGARD< LA
Fitting: BEFORE the 10th
Pay : tba
