Mark Wahlberg’s Boston Marathon Bombing Movie Open Casting Call

Mark Wahlberg’s Patriot’s Day – The Boston Marathon Bombings Movie – is now casting in Boston, Massachusetts.

Boston Casting is holding an open casting call to work on the upcoming Boston Marathon bombings movie, Patriot’s Day starring Mark Wahlberg and J.K. Simmons.

According to CBS, Boston Casting will be holding an open call on Sunday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the upcoming movie.

Filmmakers are looking for general extras, police officers, SWAT Team members, firefighters, doctors, nurses, paramedics and marathon runners.

Candidates, who must be at least 18 years old, are asked to bring a photo to the casting call. Filming will take place from March 29th to May 31st.

The movie will be directed by Peter Berg  from the hit movie Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon. The movie was written by Matt Charman, who most recently worked on the Academy Award nominated movie Bridge of Spies. Patriot’s Day is based on the account of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. Wahlberg, Scott Stuber, Hutch Parker, Dylan Clark, Stephen Levinson and Michael Radutzky are producing the movie.

According to Variety, J.K. Simmons will play Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese of the Watertown Police Department. Four days after the 2013 bombing, the off-duty officer jumped fences and went through backyards to flank bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Mark Wahlberg will play a Boston Police Department officer who was central to the investigation and manhunt.
