Woman Walks Ahead starring Jessica Chastain is now casting speaking roles in New Mexico.essi

A feature film titled “Woman Walks Ahead” will film in New Mexico this September. The movie is based on the true story of Brooklyn artist Catherine Weldon, who moved to Standing Rock Reservation in the Dakota Territory to help legendary Native American leader Sioux chieftain Sitting Bull work with the government to retain the land of his people in 1889.

Midthunder Casting is now casting speaking roles, photo doubles, and extra roles for the new movie. Casting directors are looking for Lakota men, women and children to work on the upcoming feature film.

Filming will take place in New Mexico and casting directors are looking for people that are Lakota and/or speak the Lakota language.


About Woman Walks Ahead:

According to Variety, Jessica Chastain will portray Caroline Weldon, who moved from Brooklyn to the Standing Rock Reservation in Dakota Territory to help Sioux chieftain Sitting Bull keep the land for his people. Weldon wrote letters to the federal government on behalf of Sitting Bull and lived on the land for several years with her son.
