Denzel Washington‘s new Netflix movie “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” is now casting stand-ins in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming between July 8th through August 16th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Producers are seeking the following types:
- (1) – Caucasian male – Ages 42-54. . Brown hair. Height 5’9.5-5’10.5. Suit size 40-42R. Waist 34-36. Shirt 16.5/32-33. Put “STANDIN 6” in the subject line when submitting
About ‘MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM’:
Denzel Washington revealed nearly a half-decade ago, his plans to produce 10 of August Wilson’s plays, which consists of 10 plays portraying the 20th century African American experience, from the early 1900s, just after slavery and the Civil War, to the 1990s, into feature films. He first started with the film adaptation of Wilson’s “Fences”.
Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is a 1982 play – one of the ten-play Pittsburgh Cycle by August Wilson – that chronicles the twentieth century African American experience. The play is set in Chicago in the 1920s, and centers around issues of race, religion and the historic exploitation of black recording artists by white producers.

Must have AMAZING availability between July 8-August 16 (weekdays only). Rate is $168/12, time and a half after that. Typical 12-14 hour days. Must have a car to get to set.

*Have to be available for a wardrobe fitting tomorrow and a camera test on Friday, if selected.
Standins are UBER important. They must be reliable, punctual, smart and able to take direction well. All of the camera and lighting tests are done on the Standins so if they aren’t there, the day can’t begin.
