Disney is Working on a ‘Mighty Ducks’ Reboot

Disney working rebooting the hockey classic ‘The Mighty Ducks’.

According to reports, Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, has ordered a new series following the classic trilogy that ran in the late 90s.

Reports claim the new series focuses on a 13-year-old boy who, after getting kicked off the Mighty Ducks, starts his own team with the help of his mom and finds a coach, players, and an ice rink to play on.

The Mighty Ducks (1992) is a sports comedy about a youth hockey team. The first movie was directed by Stephen Here and starring Emilio Estevez. The movie grossed over $50 million domestically in the United States becoming a hit with audiences. The movie inspired two sequels. The year after the movie’s release, Disney founded a National Hockey League hockey team, named the “Mighty Ducks of Anaheim” after the film.

In related Disney news, Disney is now casting talent in Chicago, Illinois for an untitled romantic TV movie.
