Matthew McConaughey Wanted The Hulk Role, Marvel Said “No, Thank You”

Matthew McConaughey reveals he was interested in playing Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Marvel turned him down.

During a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the actor talked about his admiration for the Hulk TV series in the 1970s. He approached Marvel after Edward Norton departed from the character.

“Wanted it,” McConaughey said, before explaining that Marvel rejected him with a “No thank you.” 

The role later went to Mark Ruffalo, who has played Bruce Banner since The Avengers in 2012. At the same time, the role is mostly voiced acting.

In relevant Matthew McConaughey’s news, The legendary actor is now a practice professor at the University of Texas at Austin’s Moody College of Communication. According to reports, the actor will start his new job in the fall of 2019 term.

The 49-year-old actor will join the department of Radio-Television-Film where he will continue to work as the Script to Screen instructor. Previously, in 2015 he signed on as a co-teacher for the class with fellow faculty member and director, Scott Rise.

Kathleen Mabley, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Moody College of Communications, spoke with E! News.

“He’ll still teach the same class, Script to Screen, but now as an official employee, he has the ability also to mentor students, explore teaching other classes and participate in all of the University events,” she said in a statement.
