MTV’sMaking the Band’ is now casting and looking for singers, dancers, and rappers.

MTV is the world’s premier entertainment brand, the cultural headquarters of the millennial generation and a pioneer in creating innovative programming for young people. MTV displays pop culture with award-winning content produced around compelling storytelling, music, and activism across media platforms.

‘Making the Band’ is an ABC/MTV reality series that created musical acts O-Town, Da Band, Danity Kane, Day26, and Donnie Klang. The first series featured O-Town, all seasons of ‘Making the Band’ have been overseen by Diddy, acting as the leader of the house who makes the final decision on who will be in the band. On July 15, 2019, it was announced that the series was revived and will premiere in 2020

Now, MTV is partnering with Diddy to bring back ‘Making The Band’. According to the casting call, MTV’s ‘Making The Band’ is returning in 2020.

Per the casting call:

Making the Band was an MTV cultural phenomenon that changed the face of reality television by bringing together diverse talent on a global scale, while being mentored by legendary artist and mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs. Making The Band is back and ready to usher in a new era of young, successful stars. Diddy is searching for multi-talented performers who can sing, dance and rap. If you think you’ve got what it takes to impress the hardest working man in show business, submit your best material now!

Must be 18 years or older to apply to be a contestant. Additional eligibility requirements can be found HERE.

Judges and Open Casting Calls:

The business/music mogul has picked his three sons, who are called the “Combs Cartel” to judge the revived show airing in 2020. MTV’s promo video on Wednesday revealed Christian Combs, 22, Quincy Brown, 28, and Justin Combs, 26, as they announced a four-city casting call and explained what they’re looking for in the next musical star.

“You know we had to be involved in the return of Making the Band,” Christian Combs said in the video. “It’s only right. So stay tuned, it’s a movement.”

“We not settling for just anybody,” Brown added in the clip. “If you feel like you got what it takes to compete in today’s industry — y’all know how our pops does it. So expect nothing but the best to be showing up.”

Making The Band is back. We back, we back, we back,” Diddy said, as he joined his sons at the end of the video.

Choreographer and So You Think You Can Dance judge Laurieann Gibson, who was associated with the original Making The Band, is also set to participate as a judge.

Open Casting Call Dates & Locations:
  • The castings will take place in Atlanta from Feb. 28-29, Houston from March 7-8, Charlotte, N.C., from March 13-14, and New York City from March 21-22. Hopefuls can also submit auditions online.
