Disney is ramping up production on Indiana Jones 5 with Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg.

For months we’ve heard rumors of a fifth Indiana Jones movie coming soon with a younger lead, rumored to be Chris Pratt, taking over the franchise and replacing Harrison Ford. But today, we learned that we might be getting the best of both worlds.

According to an official Walt Disney Studios press release, Steven Spielberg will once again be working with Harrison Ford following the critical and commercial success of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens – to create a new Indiana Jones movie.

Indiana Jones’ Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall are also signed on to produce the upcoming sequel. According to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn, it’s hard to turn down the possibility of a new Indiana Jones movie.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019. It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor, and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

The fifth film follows a successful franchise including Raiders Of The Lost Ark(1981), its prequel Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom (1984) and the sequel Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade (1989), and most recently Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (2008). Altogether, the franchise has earned nearly $2 billion worldwide.

Harrison is going to take us on another amazing and wild ride through anthropology, history, action and adventure. The new movie’s release is expected to hit theaters in 2019.
