ABC’s ‘Harlem’s Kitchen’ is now casting and hiring actors in New York City.

ABC casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on the new ABC series ‘Harlem’s Kitchen’ filming in New York City. Producers are looking for local area actors to work various paid roles in upcoming episodes of ‘Harlem’s Kitchen’.

About ABC’s ‘Harlem’s Kitchen’:

According to Deadline, Harlem’s Kitchen (fka Untitled Zahir McGee Project aka Rice),  written by Zahir McGhee, is a family drama set in a fine dining restaurant in Harlem.

ABC describes the series as follows “An ensemble family drama set in a fine dining restaurant in Harlem. Ellis Rice, the Executive Chef, and patriarch, runs a successful restaurant with his wife and three daughters. But an unexpected death thrusts the family into turmoil and puts the restaurant’s future in jeopardy as long-buried secrets are revealed.”

ABC’s ‘Harlem’s Kitchen’ Open Casting Call

Waldron casting is searching for Harlem locals for background work on the new series. If you’re interested, please send all of the following information to harlemskitchen@waldroncasting.com with “Harlem Background” in the subject line:

  • Full Name
  • Cell Phone Number
  • Confirm you are over 18 years old
  • Attach a recent non-professional photo of yourself (no hats, sunglasses, overly edited photos, or photos with filters)
  • Don’t be afraid to show your personality in your wardrobe! Looking for all types
  • State if you are a member of SAG-AFTRA or if you are non-union.
  • List the two types of original identification you can bring to set to fill out the I9 form for payment.
  • State if you have a car that you can drive to set that can be used on camera. If so, please list the year, color, make, and model of your car.

The non-union background rate is $165/day. When you are hired for a work day, you are expected to have all day availability. Scripted television can have very early start times and very late end times!
