‘The Hanky Code’ Feature Film Series Casting Call

“Hema” is a highlighted segment of a feature film anthology THE HANKY CODE being produced out of San Francisco via Periwinkle Cinema and featuring new pieces from over 20 directors.  Based on the color/kink MAROON/Menstruation-Blood, Hema is very experimental in content and form, and is a piece which highlights a woman’s fascination with her own body and the magical element within. Highly inspired by the likes of David Lynch and Kenneth Anger, an intimate, sensual monologue will overlay a presentation of images which represent the introspective analysis that Hema experiences in relation to menstruation, with a slightly sexual (whilst tame) approach.

LGBTQ most welcome! Shooting 2 days: Sat. Jan 24, Sun. Jan 25 in Brooklyn (1 day @ Chem Creative Studios).  This is a low-budget short with a super creative vibe. The content may sound intense, but it’s all about having fun with this one.  The “nudity’ is tasteful… think Jennifer Lawrence in X-Men but with red paint!

LEAD ROLE:   Hema is a fair, fragile, independent woman.  Her intent is to find a co-conspirator to share her fascination with being a woman.  Silent role, late 20s-early 30s, blonde preferred but not absolutely necessary.  Must be comfortable with kissing another woman – LGBTQ highly preferred. Model-types highly encouraged to submit, actresses are welcome as well! Performance artists also highly encouraged!

SUPPORTING:  This role is introduced in the second half of this 5-minute piece as the object of affection of our lead, Hema.  Female, dark hair preferred, must be open to tasteful nudity (think Jennifer Lawrence’s makeup in X-Men),  and open to kissing women.  LGBTQ, performance artists, models highly encouraged!

As this is a very experimental and silent piece, I’ll be scheduling face to face meetings to discuss the piece in greater detail.  Model types, performance artist types are highly encouraged to submit!
