Here’s what it was like to audition for a role on the Han Solo movie.

Production for the upcoming Han Solo movie is scheduled to start this January, with LucasFilm’s setting a May 25, 2018 release.

Currently, only two actors have been cast, Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.

But, what was it like to audition for a role in the Han Solo movie?

Alden Ehrenreich spoke about the audition process, revealing that his actual audition for the role took place on the Millennium Falcon.

Director J.J. Abrams built a Millennium Falcon on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it seems that same ship was used to hold Alden Ehrenreich’s audition. The actor spoke with Interview Magazine, where he talked about how long the audition process was. Here’s what he had to say about auditioning for Han Solo: A Star Wars Story.

“I had an audition process that went on for a long time, and I got to spend a lot of time with the guys who are directing the film. Getting to be around them and being around the world a little bit has been the main experience so far. I did my audition on the Millennium Falcon for one of my screen tests, which was pretty cool. It was pretty fun, because I enjoyed the material a lot. Last year I read for the directors, then came to England and did a test on the Falcon, then came back and did a couple more screen tests in Los Angeles.”

Ehrenreich went on to say that he hasn’t met Harrison Ford yet, but he envisioned playing his character when he was a child, adding that “the little kid in me is having a real joyride.”

Meanwhile, Donald Glover recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show, where he talked about how much the franchise means to him.

“It’s really crazy. I’m honored, and it’s a very big deal. There’s this thing going around on the Internet of me in a Star Wars t-shirt when I was in high school, so it’s been a long thing. That was the first toy I had, Lando. I remember it like it was yesterday. My dad gave it to me, and I had a Darth Vader one too. I told my dad (about landing the role) immediately and he’s like ‘Aww,’ and my mom is in the back saying, ‘Don’t mess it up! Don’t mess this up!’ Cause Billy Dee – like, that’s hers.”
