Godfather of Harlem starring Forest Whitaker is now casting downscale types in New York City

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on September 2018 and March 2019

Producers are seeking the following types:

  • Grant Wilfley Casting is seeking the following for EPIX TV series, “Godfather of Harlem” starring Forest Whitaker: SAG-AFTRA/NON-UNION African-American Men & Women, all age ranges, to portray various 1960s Downscale Types (Junkies, Dealers, Prostitutes, etc.).
  • **MUST BE OKAY WORKING AROUND ATMOSPHERIC SMOKE
    **MUST HAVE PERIOD APPROPRIATE HAIR (Men – +2 inches, small afros, all around or willing to get period haircut, NO buzzcuts, fades, edged sides, braids, dreads, unnatural colors, etc.) (WOMEN – shoulder length or shorter, small afros, NO braids, dreads, ombre, unnatural colors, etc.)

Forest Whitaker will star in the EPIX series Godfather of Harlem. According to Variety, “The series is titled “Godfather of Harlem.” It will tell the true story of crime boss Bumpy Johnson (Whitaker), who in the early 1960s returned after 10 years in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles. With the streets controlled by the Italian mob, Bumpy takes on the Genovese crime family to regain control. During the brutal battle, he forms an alliance with radical preacher Malcolm X, catching his political rise in the crosshairs of social upheaval and a mob war that threatens to tear the city apart.”

**MUST BE OKAY WORKING AROUND ATMOSPHERIC SMOKE

These roles work various dates throughout our shooting schedule which is Sep 2018 – March 2019, however at the moment we are looking for two particular dates this week, Thursday 9/27 & Friday 9/28.

You will need to attend a wardrobe fitting this week prior to these shoot dates.

-Confirm avail for fitting this week
-Confirm full avail for any/and all dates mentioned (Thurs 9/27, Fir, 9/28, & Various TBD)
-What forms of ID you’ll bring to fill out I-9 paperwork
