Fifty Shades of Grey was a major hit in the box office and in true Marlon Wayans fashion, ‘Fifty Shades of Black’ is the parody spin-off on the romantic-drama.

Fifty Shades of Grey centered around a literature student Anastasia Steele’s life changes forever when she meets handsome, yet tormented, billionaire Christian Grey. It is based on the best selling novel by E.L. James and the movie adaptation made over $569 million dollars worldwide. ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ featured Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey.

Marlon Wayans is currently working on the spoof version of the movie which is scheduled to hit theaters on January 29th, 2016.

Marlon Wayans and Rick Alvarez will write for the film, in which Wayans will star as Christian Grey. The film will be distributed by SquareOne Entertainment in Germany and Open Road Films in the United States; IM Global will produce and finance it, as well as handle international releases.

Filming will commence in the summer of 2015 in Los Angeles, with a production budget of around $5 million.

According to IMDB, Beth Lipari of Beth Lipari Casting is the principal casting director for the upcoming Fifty Shades of Black movie.

Beth Lipari has worked on several major motion pictures including Kevin Hart’s new movie ‘Central Intelligence’, ‘We’re the Millers’, and ‘The Wolverine’.
