When Frank Smith, a successful doctor, fostering resentment over being orphaned at birth, finally learns of his family ties, he becomes the center of some strange familial responsibilities. A dark comedy glittered- I mean littered- with unexpected turns, this unique story gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “don’t judge a book by its cover”.

[DR. FRANK SMITH]—LEAD – Male, 30-35, ambiguous ethnicity. Resentful from a childhood growing up in foster homes, Frank finally faces his family ties and is handed an unimaginable responsibility. No-nonsense, practical-minded, timid.
[LOUIE]—MAIN SUPPORTING- Male, 40-50, Italian-American. The Godfather’s right-hand-man. A coach and advisor.
[DONNY]—MAIN SUPPORTING – Male, 25-35, Italian-American, non-speaking. A boy-guard of sorts who follows the Godfather with a violin case. Mysterious, quiet, maybe a bit intimidating.
[KATHI LIBERI]—MAIN SUPPORTING – Female, 30-35. A single mom, raised in the same foster community as Frank is in need of a heart transplant. She is desperate for help but bright and brings out a spark in Frank.
[JONATHON]- Male, 30’s, Italian-American, G.Godfather’s son. Jealous and angry from being left out of his father’s legacy. Hot-headed, selfish, scheming.
[PAULINE]- Female, any age. Nurse, Philadelphia accent. Works at the hospital with Frank and, along with Bernadette, has taken an interest in Frank’s affairs.
[BERNADETTE]- Female, any age. Nurse, Philadelphia accent, speaks with a stutter. Pairs up with Pauline to eavesdrop on Frank’s sudden behavioral change.
[GRACE]—Female, 30-60. A fairy trainer. Wise and experienced but impatient and unimpressed with what she’s got to work with. Energetic, to the point, tough.
[Several Supporting Roles]
Giovanni Gianni (G. Godfather)- Italian-American, senior, well-dressed. Godfather of the Italian-American club.
Maddie- Kathi’s daughter, 6-10. Sweet, excitable.
Jack Demayo- Hospital CEO
Conover- Detective, always suspicious but never has the proof
Guzman- Detective, clownish, often repeats Conover
Louie Aaron- 50-58. Family attorney
Tzio- Bartender at the Italian-American club
Young Frank—8-14, in foster care
Young Katherine—8-14, in foster care
