‘Breaking Bad’ Virtual Reality Experience with Sony Coming Soon

Sony is planning to announce a Breaking Bad virtual reality experience at the E3 video game conference in Los Angeles, California next week. Despite going off the air nearly four years ago, the hit AMC drama is making a comeback. While there is no storyline or if Bryan Cranston will be involved, the show’s creator Vince Gilligan is reportedly working on the Sony project.

While it is surprising to see a Breaking Bad virtual reality experience, it is not surprising to see Sony get involved considering the company’s video game console Playstation released a set of VR consoles last October. In fact, nearly 1 million VR consoles were sold in three months.

The show first aired on the AMC network for five seasons, from January 20, 2008, to September 29, 2013. It tells the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. Together with his former student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), White turns to a life of crime, producing and selling crystallized methamphetamine to secure his family’s financial future before he dies, while navigating the dangers of the criminal world.
