On Thursday evening, sources revealed that some last-minute concerns arose regarding what the management side perceived as new negotiation points raised by the WGA. This led to extended discussions, concluding around 7:30 p.m.
Plans for a third day of negotiations were confirmed shortly before the WGA's communication to its members at 9:45 p.m. PT. It remains uncertain whether the CEOs will reconvene at AMPTP headquarters in Sherman Oaks for a third day of bargaining.

This is great news!  I was hearing rumors about a spin off in another part of the country. The only drawback to a new show is having to learn the new characters.  I hope they do what they usually do and send over a few of the actors from the original show to draw more interest. I'm glad it's going to be on this summer b/c that's when die-hard TWD fans are diligently counting down the days until the premiere of the next season!  lol.

<h2>'The Walking Dead' companion series has just landed a two-season order at AMC, according to reports.</h2>
The spinoff, which will be set in Los Angeles will feature new characters and storylines and is expected to debut this summer.

The first season was given only six episodes. The second season is set for 2016.

Here is what we know so far about the new Walking Dead companion series.

Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey will star in the series and the show is executive produced by the original 'Walking Dead' team, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert.
<blockquote>“We take incredibly seriously the notion of building a satisfying companion series to the number one show on television,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president. “From the beginning of ‘The Walking Dead’ on AMC, we’ve been asked questions about what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and what it looked like as the world really did turn. 'The Walking Dead' Spinoff Gets Picked Up

<h2>AMC's 'Walking Dead' Prequel and everything we know so far!</h2>
AMC is looking to tell a completely different story with the new Walking Dead spinoff. While the pilot is being filmed in Los Angeles, the new Walking Dead series will actually be the prequel. The companion series, AKA Cobalt, takes place in Los Angeles at the dawn of the zombie apocalypse. For those of you that don't read comic books, Robert Kirkman's graphic novels never discussed the orgiins of the zombie apocalypse and according to reports, the prequel will also feature a character that briefly appeared during a key season one episode.

Dave Erickson will also be the show's showrunner, while Adam Davidson will direct the pilot.

According to reports, The Walking Dead companion series has found their version of Rick Grimes. Cliff Curtis was chosen as the starring role in the new pilot from Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson.

Cliff Curtis  is a New Zealand actor whose screen roles include Whale Rider, Once Were Warriors, and Blow. His television work includes NBC series Trauma, and Body of Proof, and starring in ABC’s Missing. Ethnically Māori, his many character roles include having portrayed a range of ethnicities, including Latin American and Arab characters.

<h2>Meet the new survivors of The Walking Dead Spin-off</h2>
Earlier this month, AMC officially ordered a pilot for the Walking Dead spin-off known as The Walking Dead Companion Series. The new series will follow a new group of survivors as they wander through the zombie apocalypse.
